The Posy Poise Studio is a small florist in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, making handmade artificial flower bouquets for weddings and engagements since 2023. We ship worldwide. Below is everything people usually ask before ordering.

About the studio

What is The Posy Poise Studio?

The Posy Poise Studio is a small florist in Yogyakarta, Indonesia that makes handmade artificial flower bouquets, mainly for weddings and engagements. It was started in 2023 by Dheana Titaura Hanindita, and is deliberately small: every bouquet that leaves the studio was built by hand, on a table, by someone who knows whose wedding it is for.

Each stem is wired, taped and bound individually. Because the flowers are faux rather than fresh, they are kept after the event rather than thrown away.

Artificial flowers

Why choose artificial flowers over fresh flowers for a wedding?

Three practical reasons, and one honest trade-off.

They survive the day: no wilting in tropical heat, no water, no drooping by the time the reception photos are taken. They travel: a faux bouquet can be made weeks ahead and posted anywhere in the world, which is what makes a destination wedding possible without a local florist. And they are kept: the bouquet goes on a shelf for years instead of into a bin on Monday.

The trade-off is real. Artificial flowers have no scent, and they cannot match the particular softness of a fresh petal up close. If either matters more to you than keeping the bouquet, fresh flowers are the better choice.

What is a kipas bouquet?

A kipas bouquet is flowers mounted on a hand fan, kipas is the Indonesian word for fan. Instead of a round posy you hold a flat, decorated fan.

It is light to hold through a long ceremony, sits flat so it photographs cleanly from the front, and ships far more safely than a round bouquet. The Posy Poise version is built on a bamboo fan with foam florals, roughly 37 × 27 cm.

What are the flowers made of, and how long do they last?

Mostly latex and foam florals, chosen because they hold their shape and photograph closer to real petals than fabric flowers do. Stems are wired and wrapped in floral tape, then bound with satin or ribbon. Traditional Indonesian pieces use faux melati (jasmine) strands.

They last years, with no maintenance beyond keeping them out of direct sunlight and dusting occasionally.
